me (samuel) and james have been talking about making cider for about two years now. usually these discussions are held at the pub and by the next morning the enthusiasm has worn off and we end up watching 5 hours of how to videos of youtube for no reason. we had the traditional drunk cider making conversation when i got back from america last week and then the traditional lagging ensued until three days later when james called me saying he’d acquired an apple press, which it turns out was all the motivation we needed to get the job done. after a day of twatting apples off of trees on precariously balanced ladders we had everything we needed to make our poison. today we cut, pulped and pressed all the apples and now we have four gallons of juice that in six months will hopefully make an entire week vanish from the calendar. i’ll keep you updated on the progress of our attempt to make one of england’s finest liquids.
